YWAM Nordland is situated in a quaint little village in Northern Norway. Each fall we expectantly welcome the new students. We delight in blending the many cultures represented in to one happy “family”. It is a house full of laughter and joyful memories!
We come from many countries around the world. We each bring an interesting piece to our “cultural pie” that is YWAM Nordland!
Countries our staff have come from include: Norway, Netherlands, Switzerland, Australia, Iceland, Chile, Finland, USA, France and Canada.
Would you like to serve with us? Whether you have skills and experience in a specific field or would like to challenge yourself, we have many opportunities for you to join in, both short and long term!
YWAM Nordland is here to serve those around us. Below are several ways we work to contribute to our community and society as a whole.
One of the most important things we can do is to invest in children and youth. A safe atmosphere allows them to be themselves and make good friends. YWAM Nordland does this through camps and youth clubs in the community.
We involve ourselves in our village and nearby communities by helping in schools, doing practical work, helping with events and encouraging local Christians who might be the only ones in their area.
In October 2020, we opened a café to serve our neighbours. The name of our café means “Northern Lights”. We want people to see God in a new light and be awestruck by who He is. Our goal is to build relationships and create a place that brings life to our village. Follow us on Instagram @cafenordlys.
Træna festival is a popular music festival which takes place on the island of Træna every summer. For the last few years we have sent teams to help with practical things. We want to show God’s love through meeting and serving residents/visitors. We often end up having good conversations about God!
